Third world people south of the border don't drive, don't fly in airplanes, don't have air conditioners, usually don't have water heaters, don't have children in first world countries, etc..
Also, statistics show illegal immigrants in the U.S. create larger families than the ones they would have created if they had stayed in their own country.

The entire federal government is a disgrace on illegal immigration. Republicans are in with international business organizations who want unlimited slave labor that can't organize. It's really weird when you see George W. Bush taking that position since he is obsessed with terrorists yet he has no problem with millions of unknown aliens crossing the border into our country. But then again since he's spying on all of us now I guess he knows what everyone's up to.
Libs are trying to get amnesty passed for millions of new guaranteed votes. Their grand scheme is to change the country at a cultural and political level. The 'progressive' policies of east & west coast liberals for entitlement and wealth redistribution don't fly with traditional Americans, but with illegal immigrants getting amnesty and the right to vote, that would all change.

The democrats see in illegal aliens a source of political strengths and votes.
Their being illegal will not discourage them from getting voter cards from the other documentation they are given, and they can be paid to vote by one party, as was done in a moderately recent governor's election in California.
And you are right on large families; I have seen chart how in a few tens of years they will make the legal citizens a shrinking minority just on birth rates, subsidized by the Democratic government!
And as long as they stay in their proper places and vote right, they will help the Democrats keep the US under their thumbs!

The democrats are counting on the illegal alien vote in the next election. It has been set up so they need only a utility bill to prove their right to vote. Citizenship for voting has been ruled out by the democrats. The democrats need a huge under class to force the USA into socialism.
