West Virginia's Rich Rodriguez was named as the next Wolverine coach earlier today.

Do you think he will be successful in Ann Arbor? Please share your thoughts.

Thanks!

So with that goof's conspiracy of why WVU lost to Pitt maybe this is a BETTER conspiracy theory. He was looking at the open jobs, and wasn't doing a good job game planning. I hope he fails horribly at Michigan, nothing against Michigan, and they get rid of him after about 2 or 3 years and no one wants him. He backed out of a job last year at the last minute and said oh I am staying at WVU, where he went to school. So yeah I hope he fails, the same as I hope Nick Saban fails and hope Arkansas has a horrible year.

They are young and lack talent. They are starting 2 walk ons. I don't remember the exact number, but over 10-20 defensive player from the 2005 and 2006 recruiting classes are no longer with Michigan. That is essentially the seniors that they could be using this year. You can't blame RichRod because most of them left for disciplinary reasons and most left before he got there. As for the offense I think there doing just fine. They just had a major hiccup because of the young qbs against PSU/Illinois. Sorry about not knowing the exact stats, but I was listening on the radio and I think in total yards or total points they are ranked 30 compared with last years 110th. I think the strength is the front 7. Stevie Brown has improved. Roh is doing very well as a freshman. I guess you can say Michigan should have added more pressure on the qb, but all the big plays has to do with the secondary.

I think it's a great move for Michigan. They needed change and I think Rodriguez will be successful.
His spread is a run spread and so it shouldn't be that much of a change for Michigan.
As a Michigan fan, I say give the man a chance and see what he can do. I think you'll all be suprised.
Go Blue!

Having been around alot of fans from both the Big 10 and Big East, I can tell you one thing. Coaching in the Big 10 is more cutthroat than the Big East. Big 10 is VERY traditioned and Michigan is one of the top 3 in that department. If he fails it will be the same reason that Dennis Franchione failed at Texas A&M because of the fans expecting him to deliver the big games. Michigan, Alabama, Texas A&M, and USC are all schools like that. The alumni pressure to me is going to be the big headache and not recruiting or talent. Not even Ohio State.
