political affiliation?

The growing number of homosexuals is due to their practice of no longer staying in the closet. When they keep their lifestyle choices private, it is between them and God. God will choose when and if He will place conviction upon their heart.
However, when they make their choices public, the Bible tells us that it then is no longer between the sinner and God. Homosexuality is contagious. Of course, I realize that statement may sound insane to some and homosexual activists will make fun of it. A perperson does not "catch" homosexuality as they would the common flu bug. But homosexuality is a mental depravity that has severe consequences for society and its social acceptance IS contagious. It is increasingly viewed by even children as a legitimate form of a romantic relationship that should receive God's blessing.

waswisgirl1 please don't assume this is "my" position. I ask the public what they think of this position. Please don't confuse that with suporting it

Conservatives often deny their position and retoric on many subjects is close to that of hate groups or bring up Robert Byrd ignoring the real debate. We can all read what their reaction was to this intolerant position that I copied and pasted straight of the KKK website
http://www.kkk.bz/ignore_parents.htm

How does it make conservatives feel to know they agreed with the klan? Is that reason to pause and reconsider?

I know it would make some conservatives feel so much more comfortable if gays and lesbians would stay in the closet like they did in the past. Now these same conservatives have to struggle with their ability to treat others with tolerance, love and compassion, in spite of their views of the behavior of others. It's a difficult task to confront behavior you disagree with, yet act in a loving, respectful way.

I find your statements very sad to see, but it won't be the first time I see someone of faith write with fear and intolerance. I'm agnostic and liberal. Some people can make it very difficult to embrace a faith that produces such sad thoughts as yours.

I have no affiliation. You would call me a liberal.

1) Re: growing numbers of homosexuals. You have no proof that they are present in a larger percentage of the population today than there were 100 years ago. They are probably more visible and countable, but that does not change the relative amount of your "depravity".

2) You finally got around to the truth of the matter: that it is social acceptance of homosexuality that is contagious. And it is probably true that more children and adults accept homosexuality as a legitimate form of a romantic relationship. It is certainly not illegitimate.

3) Re: the blessing of a deity. Children and adults will think as they will about that and there's nothing anybody can do about it short of putting it all back into the closet. But there is absolutely no reason to believe that any heterosexual is going to become gay because everything is out of the closet.

Why don't you just mind your own effing business?

Great question. I expect you to add that was from Abe Lincoln or some other American folk hero.

I place a lot on this segment from Romans 1: "and have pleasure with those that do the same" That enables a self perpetuating condition

Im an Independant voter, very Conservative on most issues...
I think the sins every man or woman commit be them pertaining to homosexuality or otherwise.. will be dealt with by the creator himself.
Not my duty to judge you... Actually I could care less about these people, or their "Struggle".
Just my duty to let you know and let you decide for yourself.
The bible is very clear on its position on homosexuality. Despite efforts to rewrite it by those people who favor homosexuality, and see it as a lifestyle your "Born" with, rather than a sin you choose to indulge yourself in.
Sure the bible preaches Love, and Tolerance...for one another.
It also says the souls of those people who participate in sodomy, and similar homosexual acts... will line the pits of hell, and that there will be no reprive for them.
I certainly for one, dont hate them... I pity them.
God will not be as forgiving, or as emotionally humble... no matter how they spin it.

That is most surely a conservative point of view. It's obvious this person knows little about psychology. It is also typical of conservatives not to find out about things they know little about. They often don't read very well and only read readers digest or the local newspaper. I'm 68 now and was a mental health therapist for about 30 years. I have never heard of anyone "catching" homosexuality, that is a remarkably stupid, remarkably ignorant thing to say. Most homosexual and lesbian people I've spoken with have had a horrible time in childhood because of their difference. This is continued into their adult life when they have struggled to tell straight friends about their gayness, due to fears the friend will drop them like a hot potato. Who in the hell would choose that life if they had a choice whether to do it or not. So, the conservative position has to do with a lack of intelligence, knowledge, and love for your fellow man.

did you know : there is an EX-homosexual lobbying group in D.C.?

ever listen to shrinks on the radio? when a homosexual calls with a question, the first thing the shrink asks is "what happened to you?" (how did you get this way?)

it's not genetic. these are traumatized individuals. they can be helped. whether or not they WANT to get help, well draw your own conclusions.

i'm a conservative independant. (because logically, liberal is the way to go on some issues.)

(i'm not saying all are tweaked mentally--i'm sure 2-3% actually are driven to the same sex--while others have been hurt by someone or something of that nature.)

I agree with some of this. The more homosexuality is accepted in society the more widespread it will become. I agree that contagious is probably the wrong word, it's just that people no longer fear the public stigma that used to come from being gay. What bothers me the most as a Christian is that people keep trying to put words in our mouths to make us look uncaring. People keep saying that because we believe homosexuality is sin that we hate gay people and nothing is farther from the truth. We love our gay brothers and sisters and we want them to turn away from this sinful lifestyle so they will be able to spend eternity with us in heaven. This is done out of love, not hate. People need start listening to our words instead of trying to put them in our mouths.

I think that the homosexuals who are a threat to society are those that REMAIN in the closet and decide to have heterosexual relations while putting others at risk. It is far better for society, if homosexuality becomes a socially acceptable.

That way you would not have to "force" people into a closeted life style and force them to conform to behaviors that are not normal to them.

So I believe the opposite of this statement, AND I DON'T GIVE A SHIPWRACK what the Conserv. position is.

I do not agree with homosexuality. Most gay people are not even gay, they do it just for attention. There are studies that have shown that such a small percent of people are actually born homosexual. It is a shame that the newer generation is being exposed through mostly propaganda to accept gays.

It's a Christian (fundamentalist) conservative position. This doesn't mean that conservatives who may or not be Christian have the same position. I think the statement is stupid and illogical. I'm a libertarian.
