Nope. When you go from average for four years straight and then untouchable, there's something that changed the tide. When your former trainer makes a statement about your steroid use under penalty of jail for false statements, it's over. He's a cheat and even though I'm a Red Sox fan and would hope that Clemens did get into the hall as Red Sox player, I think he should be left out.

As performed by Roger Clemens in the winter of 1996/1997
I packed my bags last night pre-flight
My pitching days, were near an end
And they said it was the twilight of my career by then
I miss my curve so much, I miss my strikes
I'm loading on some weight
So I think the time is right
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
Till Mitchell comes around and then they'll find
I'm not the man they think I am at all
Oh no, no, no
I'm a Rocket Man
Rocket Man, striking out my foes on anadrol
But I think it's gonna be a long, long time
This ain't a young man's face, I'm not a kid
In fact I'm old as hell
But I got a plan to change that, and I think I will
And all the science, I don't understand
It's just a shot into my cheek
And I'm a Rocket Man, a Rocket Man!
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
Till Mitchell comes around and then they'll find
I'm not the man they think I am at all
Oh no, no, no
I'm a Rocket Man
Rocket Man, striking out my foes on anadrol
But I think it's gonna be a long, long time

LOL....No, I don't believe him. The funny part is that we have more evidence against him (somebody who actually supplied it and injected it) then Bonds. If the baseball community has treated Bonds so badly with less evidence, how will Clemens be treated? If he is treated any better then we are all just a bunch of hypocrites. By the way, I believe Bonds did it as well but I still feel they should both be in the H-of-Fame. Talent is talent no matter what the drugs are.

The fact remains though that he was available and participated in numerous tests and the results were negative each time. Unless Mitchell or the trainer McNamee can produce a syringe with Clemons DNA on it, he is innocent. All it is right now is one person's word against another. No tapes, no films, no hard evidence = no guilt.

no, and I think it's totally fair to convict him based on one story, the numbers after he left boston tell the story: he either came up with a work ethic from nowhere or started taking something.

I don't care one way or the other, about him or Bonds. Look at all the no-names that juiced up and remained no-names. Too many people with the ability to make changes, in management, in the union, amongst the players, AND in the media had for too long a 'wink wink, nod nod' attitude about the whole thing for anybody, ESPECIALLY this group of suddenly self-righteous sportswriters, to make judgements about anybody.
What everyone needs to do now is leave the past in the past, and decide once and for all if they want the game cleaned up, and then clean it up, or not, and shut up about if from here on.

No, but it doesn't seem fair to convict and execute Clemens based on the story of one person (a trainer). What if he's lying? I don't believe there is any evidence besides what he is saying. How much does the trainer stand to gain or make from his new "fame", etc.
