You can't "fail" an IQ test. It's not a graded thing. You may have a learning disability that may have affected your score. If you have trouble reading, for instance, that will severely impact your ability to perform on the test, as every question is something you must read and comprehend before you can answer it. If your scores reflect that you are two years behind where the average norms are for your age group, you will qualify for special testing and help in the areas you need help in. Don't automatically think your "dumb" if you did poorly..even Albert Einstein had a learning disability (that's a fact)...and learning disabilities can be overcome with specialized instruction, time, and effort. Having a learning disability does NOT mean you're "dumb."
Good luck!

You are NOT stupid. IQ tests are just one kind of test used to help decide which sort of classes kids should go into for school.
You might need to study up on some subjects, such as maths and science, and you need to talk to your parents about getting some coaching or after school help.
In Australia, where I live, we don't use IQ tests much anymore because they are very old fashioned, so I'm not sure how often you will take this test.
And I don't know if you've ever heard of a famous artist called Pablo Picasso. Until high school, he was considered very stupid because he couldn't pass maths tests.
Years later, people asked him why, and he told them it was because the numbers looked like drawings ~ '7's looked like upside noses, '0's looked like eyes ...
He was a great artist but lousy at maths.
You also probably have some gifts that don't show up on a test. Maybe you are good at sport, or can train dogs really well, or know how to walk on one hand. People can do all sorts of things tests don't cover.
Cheer up, study hard and you'll have a chance to discover what YOU can do really well :-)

No one fails an IQ test, no one. Tera is right: a IQ test cannot process minds as Einstein one, brilliant but not following the "statistically normal" learning curve and using canonical learning abilities. And several IQ test use pop quiz and several facets of human mind.
You flunked the popular culture questions? You're very young, you'll have time to read and stuff.
You flunked a huge array of text? There are mathematical minds, minds able to score better results about speaking and writing, spatial minds, that do well in exploration and even architecture... wait a few years, then in high school you'll discover your mind. You can be a master poet or the Livingstone of the 21th century, who knows?

First of all, were you tired when you took the test? Stressed? There are a lot of factors that play out here...Make arrangements to take the test again...find some logic puzzle books...(good exercise for your brain). The day before, try to rest and relax. Get lots of sleep the night before and make sure you drink plenty of water or a vitamin drink. As a matter of fact, put yourself on vitamins now, if you don't already take them You might also try taking ginko baloba, an herb that helps with memory recall. You can find it at any drug store on the vitamin shelf.
Also know that an IQ test is not the total story of a person's intelligence...it's just one way to try and measure it. A lot of very smart people are not good test-takers. You may decide to put off taking the test for a year or two...at 13, your brain is still developing and you may be influenced by hormonal activity as well.
Most of all...don't sweat it. You have lots of time and lots of learning left to do. Enjoy life and stop worrying about numbers.

Honey, you can't fail an IQ test. You can have a low IQ or many various levels of intelligence. Some people do not do well on standardized tests. It does not mean you are stupid. You need help with taking standardized tests. Se if you can have a tutor to help you.
God doesn't make any junk! Everyone is important! There are many kinds of jobs that are necessary to make the world go around. Not everyone should be a doctor or a lawyer. The world needs all kinds of people for all kinds of jobs that makes the world go around. What a boring world it would be if everyone were exactly alike.
It appears you need help with your school work. It is important to get it. Not everyone is on the same playing level. Some children have parents who help them with school work...some don't. Talk to your school counselor. Ask him to help you learn to work on grade level.
Best wishes and good luck!

YOU ARE NOT STUPID! First some people are just bad test takers even if they know the material backwards and forwards. Second, i agree that maybe you arent as up to date on information but that would probably be your schools fault not yours. Keep studying what they assign you, and if you have problems taking other tests as well, a guidence councilor should be able to help you talk to your school. Also talk to your parents about everything tht is going on.
Hope this helps.

Which IQ test did you fail???
Most have been proven to be biased and inaccurate...unless you happen to be a genius in everything...
The best fix is pay attention in school...the hardest thing a person can master is learning how to learn...you're not born with it...
And when you're friends are wanting you to go do something...read a book instead...study...30 minutes a day...every day...will help you learn...
You're not stupid...

I think that's the most time anyone has said or typed some form of the word serious in a paragraph. I seriously think you deserve an award.

Hey, first of all, you are not dumb ! An IQ just proves how well you learn, not how smart you are and they are mostly biased anyway.
But please stick in at school and get your head in the books and prove to yourself that you are smart and can be anything if you put your mind to it. Don't let little tests get in the way of your life !
Good Luck.

Hi.
No you are not stupid.
I am a retired principal of a school.
I.Q. tests only test I.Q.
They do not test how good you are at all the curriculum.
Monkeys can be trained to achieve very high scores in I.Q.tests.
They are not an indication of how bright you are, they exist only to see if you can "Pass" I.Q tests.
Please do not worry.
You will be fine.
So go to bed tonight and rest easy.
Kate.
