You really can't put any goldfish in a 2 gallon tank. They need at least 10-15 gallon per fish.

It seems like you all ready have your little tank and you want to put a fish in it. The rule of the thumb for bigger tanks is one fish per gallon. In this case one gold fish that is small. They need good filtration. Gold fish are messy fish. The good thing is that you don't need a heater. Gold fish are cold water fish. I,ve used these small tanks for little spaces such as desks ect. Heres how you can turn this situation into being a good samaritan. Go to your local pet store and look at feeder gold fish. Some are quiet cute. I've gotten some cute little tritails. And also calico colored fish. You will save a life with very little money. The fish are just used to serve as food for bigger fish. You might be able to get 2 very small ones for a couple of dollars sometimes they are priced at 10 for a dollar. You only need 1 or 2 if they are small. save a fish and have a cute little tank. I believe in big tanks too! I have a oscar. Anyway you won't spend alot and your fish will gain a life. Be warned alot of these fish are'nt real healthy so look at them good. Hope this helps you.

HI Hector-the simple answer is as many as you can fit in the tank [see Jake's answer above for the exact breakdown ha ha!!], seriously-the proper answer is none-a single Goldfish needs at least a 10 gallon filtered tank with a fitted lid. These 'starter' tanks are a joke & the pet industry is extremely irresponsible for selling them. If you have already bought it, I suggest you return it, if you haven't then good job you asked beforehand.
I would advise researching Goldfish before spending any more money-typically to keep them healthy & happy you need to be looking at £100/$200 for a complete initial set of new equipment although free & second hand tanks are readily available on Freecycle & Craig's List.

None. Zero. Zip. Nada
Fancy Goldfish need at least 10-20 gallons each. They grow far too large for a 2 gallon tank. If you want goldfish in a 2 gallon tank, I would recommend to get MAYBE a betta fish and some shrimps or something. No goldfish.
E-maail me for any questions!

Well lets see...
One gallon is equal to 231 cubic inches. The average goldfish is 4 inches long, .3 inches wide, and 1 inch deep (1.2 cubic inches).
Take the volume of 2 gallons (462 cubic inches and divide by the volume of a goldfish 1.2 cubic inches).
You could fit 385 goldfish in a two gallon container. lol.... I ANSWERED THE EXACT QUESTION THAT YOU ASKED. lol. God I kill me sometimes.
If it's a living goldfish... none. They need more room than that. Get a beta if you have a 2 gallon aquarium. That's more than enough room for them. ;-)

One if you really have to keep goldfish. They are very messy fish and require a lot of maintenance to keep the water clean.
