she has been vomiting for the past 3 days, im giving her pedialite instead of formula because shes throwing formula and anything else we try and feed her up.. she has no fever... and this morning i awoke to her explosive diareah all over the crib... what else can i do besides pedialite? anything?
im a stay at home mom, so ive been with her the whole time shes been sick, i have been giving her as much pedialite as she usually gets in formula and if she will take it i give her more... im really watching her for dehydration and we kept trying little bits of food and sometimes she would keep it down and other times she wouldnt... and this morning was the first time for the diarreah....
i called her doctor and they are referring to the ER and my town has the one of the worst ranked hospitals that there are and i will only go there as a last resort....
so besides going to the ER what else can i do?

Give her a wet facewasher to suck on (use boiled water) this will get fluids in slowly so she wont vomit.
Next with the formula make her a bottle but use the same amount of water but only half the amount of scoops of formula. then split the bottle into two and give her one half, wait half an hour and give her the other half.
because they usually throw up with a full tummy this way she is getting nutrients
the other 2 foods are yoghurt as it has acidophilus(sorry about spelling) which is good when they are sick.
and boiled chicken
or go back to the pureed baby food.
See the doctor the next day if you get a chance if it is a bug they will just check to see if she is dehydrated and then they will send you home telling you to let it run its course

You're doing a great job of keeping her hydrated, poor baby. I cannot think of anything I've been told to do other than phenergan (you don't happen to have this rx laying around the house?).
It's either a virus, and you're doing the best you can do and it's going to spell itself out.
Or it's an infection, and needs antibiotics to help her get well.
You don't have an after-hours clinic like an AM/PM? Look in the yellow pages. All you need is 5 minutes with a dr. And you don't need to wait in a illness-laden ER for two hours before you get it.
So if you can take her to an after-hours clinic, do so. If not, take her to the pediatrician tomorrow.
Keep up the hydrating and checking if she can keep down a little rice cereal or babyfood pears.
You're a great mom. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

She needs to be seen. I know you don't want to go to the ER, but it doesn't matter. She has been vomiting for too long, especially with the diarrhea.
Additional comment:
Phenergan should not be given to a child younger than 2 years old. Phenergan can cause severe breathing problems or death in a child younger than 2.

And pears have a natural laxative effect on the digestive system so they are not the best for your baby right now. Banana's and rice cereal are great to help treat diarrhea.

Take him to his regualr pediatrician and notice approximately having him examined for RSV. many cases it is going disregarded b/c it has mant chilly like indications. additionally, it incredibly is not the 1st element a DR seems for except your toddler is untimely! additionally, having repeated colds that are exceptionally undesirable do regrettably bring about allergies. My daughter became into clinically determined with allergies final fall. be certain which you do cope along with his indications, you could the two take him exterior interior the cool air, or run extremely warm water interior the bathing room with the door close. additionally, now the have little plugins you could circulate purchase. i'd think of you're able to attempt those till you may get him into the DR workplace. additionally, once you circulate ask the DR some nebulizer to help sparkling out your childs lungs!! better of luck, wish he feels extra effective! additionally, if the chilly return assorted cases, then this may well be and hypersensitivity that develops later in existence, my daughter developed an hypersensitivity to dairy products purely a week in the past!

I have to agree with the others, it's time to take her in to an emergency room. Drive to another town if you have to, but it sounds like she's been sick for too long.
For future reference, Pedialite is a good product; however, if given too much it can/will have a laxative effect.
It's such a precarious road we walk as parents trying to do the best for children. Good luck to you and your baby.

It might be a stomach problem..I suggest the best thing for this infant is to see a physician, I understand that it is hard for you to get in contact with one, but it is the only best solution...you are doing good to give her pedialyte, go to the nearest pharmacy and suggest what else she can take..they usually give helpful advice! Im sooo sorry, I hope ur baby feels better real sooon!!

OK try giving her things like bananas, toast, and Jello. But if she is just laying there even when she is awake she should be seen drive to another town for a hospital if need be.
