Would a couple whom isn't at home much use a lot less energy than a stay at home family with only one working spouse?

Your refrigerator uses the most since it is always on and always trying to keep the required temperature. Your oven is a big consumer but is used infrequently.

The only way the not-at-home family will use less energy is if it turns down its house temperature all the time they are away from home. Everything else is the same.

I would think that either the refrigerator or an electric clothes dryer would use more energy than an electric stove. I don't believe the stove would be on continually....so would have to go with the refrigerator first. I would bank that the stay-at-home family would use more energy.

In an all electric home the biggest user is heating. Next is the water heater. If you are not home much you could turn the thermostat down and you won't be useing much hot water so you should save quite a bit.
