With no compass, gps, etc, how well can you tell direction when you're out and about?

I don't have a problem with it. If you look at tree moss, it grows on the north side of a tree.
You can also, in the northern hemisphere, hold the watch horizontal and point the hour hand at the sun. An imaginary line between the hour hand and the 12 o'clock position would run North-south.

Very easily. The sun sets in the west, so I just look up in the sky to figure out where I'm at.

i just look at the ocean and i kno thats east so good i guess
