Great actress, but she hasn't really chosen her roles very well. Closer and Cold Mountain were alright.
In Leon she was just plain scarey. Her portrayal of Mathilda had every bloke on the planet secretly shítting himself that he was turning into a paedophile.

Yeah, she was in the Star Wars films (I know, you said good, and ep. 1 wasn't, but 2 & 3 were and she was in them, even if not that much...), I think she was in Heat but can't remember who she played, and she was in V for Vendetta, a film that I feel is one of the best comic book/graphic novel based films there's been.
