If its a matter of using something thats in the game to the best effect (ie fighting the same creature repeatedly to earn experience easily etc) or taking advantage of something that the developers put in the game (say, getting a indestructible car early in GTA etc) then, yes!
If its a matter of using cheat codes then it all depends on how much credit you give the game developers for making a good, well balanced game (Gran Turismo & the Tony Hawk series spring to mind). If the game is crap then you may have to cheat to get the best out of it. I tend to only buy games that I know are good or that I know I can mod. I suppose modding could be considered 'cheating' but I usually add content & try my best to make sure the game is well balanced airing on the side of the game being harder rather than easier (Dawn of War & Oblivion are both great games for doing this!).
If the game is good then I would never deny myself the enjoyment & personal development of a good challenge! Thats what life's about!

That's a good way to find out if someone is a crazy, cheating, liar. My ex didn't play games of challenge though, she only played games with people's heads.

Sure I do^_^. First I play the game as far as I can without any help, then, when I play it again I cheat like a ball player on steroids.
