His team could barely win 30 games before he came. They have not made any addition worth noting and lost carlos boozer. He has carried a team on his back to the finals that most people couldn't name five players off of.He does not have a pg,sg or pf when drew gooden doesn't feel like stepping up. Varajoa is hustler that is no better than Eduardo Najera.By himself he defeated a well rounded pistons team and has not even asked to be traded.

look at the number of jump shots he hits per game compared to the number of dunks and you are supposed to get a layup or dunk if you can..its a higher percentage shot if he gets an insane amount of dunks then that contributes to his skill and unstoppable ability to get to the rim.

wade had shaq and a nice supporting cast and avg 20 freethrows in the last 2 games of the finals. Lebron also had to vs the spurs who can seriosly shut down teams.Lebron on the t'wolves would give him a better supporting cast.

the fact that drew gooden and pavlovic are any kind of players is a testament to lebrons ability.look at damon jones when he gets in a game. Jones benifited from the open flooor that shq created.

lebron did not shoot 20 something free throws versing the pistons lol...he made some diccicult shots including threes to beat the pistons..rasheed wallace is a trash talker and really should not be taken seriosly.

mj relied on his athletism early in his career ..it wasnt till after his first retirement did he rely on his jumpshot.Labeling someone the next mj does not make them overrated..grant hill, kobe, penny,vc??all overrated??

I've never heard or read anything saying Lebron is/was overrated. What is he? 23? He'll be ranked with Jordan if he keeps it up. 'Specially if he gets a "Pippen" to play with him.

Some people jsut don't like him, even without having a very good reason. Now, I don't think that he is overrated. But you do make a point, that the Cleveland Cavaliers could barely win 30 games a year, before he came, but they must have needed somebody to help them win more games, and the GM of the team selected him. You might also be right, that people might have trouble even name 5 players of the roster, then the teams that might have played during the beginning of the 1990's, until Lebron James came around.

I dont know what people are talking about when they put kobe and jordan together, yea they play similar but jordan has 6 rings 6 finals mvps 5 regular season mvps 10 scoring titles rookie of the year....do u want me to keep going kobe fans? anyway, lebron sure did put that team on his back and single handly beat the pistons. he just needs to work on his jumpshot and defense a little more but other than that the kid is phenominal. hes playing better than almost everyone in the nba and is only 22. hes able to keep up or outplay the big names that have been here like AI. kobe, vince , tmac. pierce and so on

he just needs a better team around him because I still cant figure out how they made it to the NBA finals last year, he just has no legs left after carrying his team all game, so he gets tired and misses big shots in the 4th quarter i think thats why all his shots come up short late in the game. and Kobe is no Jordan lets not get ahead of ourselves, it seems like everyone forgets how much Kobe sucked in his first 4 years in the league like when he airballed 2 shots in the playoffs,
that were potential game winners. Compare the stats Lebron and Kobe their first 4 years its not even close.

He is overrated, it's the NBA that is trying to make him more than what he is. They need some to be their poster child. Rasheed Wallace says it best, and I Quote,
"It may have only been the end of the exhibition season, but Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace was in mid-season form.
"I still don't think they (Cavaliers) beat us, we beat ourselves," Wallace said. "And I think we also fell victim to that personal NBA thing where they are trying to make it a world game and get (television) ratings. They wanted to put their darling in there (the NBA Finals) and they did, and look what ended up happening.
"This game ain't basketball anymore, it's entertainment," Wallace said. "It's starting to get like the WWF. There ain't no real wrestling anymore either. It's all fake."

He is overrated because everyone is labeling him the next MJ. He is everything but that. MJ had the 15-18 foot shot automatic. While LeBron is trying to get that into his arsenol. Dont get me wrong Lebron is a man child but needs to hit that 15 foot shot down.

B/c he is....he is a "me" player and doesnt gel with the team like the greats do. He has all the potential in the world to be great, but he isnt getting it done yet. No additions? They added Larry Hughes who played great with Gilbert Arenas and avg. 24 ppg the yr before he joined the Cavs. They added Damon Jones who played great with Dwyane Wade and was top 5 in the league in 3 pts made the yr before he joined Lebron. They add guys and those guys dont ever get a chance to make an impact b/c Lebron dribbles around for 19 seconds then either throws something up or passes it off and makes a teammate shoot a horrible shot. He doesnt get them involved like he should. He is the superstar, but that goes to his head to much. The 2 guys above played great with superstars before Lebron, but Lebron doesnt play well with them. It took him like 2 1/2 yrs before he hit his first GW shot at the buzzer (had missed the first 12 or something). He isnt clutch, ive seen him take over 1 time in his career in the clutch, the other times i have seen him make horrible turnovers in the final minutes, ive seen him take horrible shots in the final seconds, and ive seen him miss very makeable shots in the closing seconds. He doesnt have that mentality yet, and he may not ever get it. No one wants to play with Lebron b/c he doesnt want to play a team game...

one player cant carry an entire team
3 players can help carry an entire team they can be the basis of a foundation (i.e. KG, pierce, and allen on the celtics along with some help from their 2 fellow starters and an above average bench)
lebron's the only star on cleveland if he came to boston then maybe he'd be winning some more games

he's good, he fills the stat sheets, but he's not as good as the media make of him. its all marketing hype. if he doesn't have this hype machine behind him some people (like myself) won't consider him overrated. but because people keep talking about how great he is before he's even achieved anything, you'd think he's always falling short of where he's supposed to be
they also make a big deal out of everything he does
if it were entirely up to me, leave the guy alone, let him earn his stripes.
look at Wade, nobody cared about him when he came in the league. then he made all those big shots during his first few trips to the playoffs. then a couple of seasons later he carried his team to the title and now he's a big star. now thats earning your stripes. Lebron was crowned King before he even held his first NBA regulation basketball. yet he hasn't really earned anything yet. even last year's trip to the NBA finals was a fluke, as they got lucky with the matchups
