How do animals get rabies besides from another animal?Where do they get it in the first place.

It comes only from a scratch or bite from an infected animal. That is why they are trying to keep tourist's dogs out of England with quarantines that hold them to be sure they are not infected. It is also why Cape Cod in Mass puts out bait for raccoons to keep them from crossing the bridge onto it. That is also why domesticated cats and dogs must have rabies-prevention shots.

I would fight that if I were you unless it is a city rule. Since the rabies vaccine is only given once every 3 years, I would think that another one so soon would not be good. I would ask your vet about it. I think that this control officer is wrong. My dogs rabies shot is due in July. I've never heard of such a thing and why would he even know what month your dog was vaccinated in. I know the tag has the date but, why did he look at the tag in the first place. I would fight this citation.

Animals get rabies from other animals,there`s no other way.Just like you can`t get a VD without someone giving it to you.

well......one animal was probably was born with it and then it traveled just like AIDS did from monkeys and now people have it
