for 20 yrs, but we still are friends with his x and have very good relationships with his 3 adult children. Do we send each child a sympathy card or do we send just one to the oldest, but address all three in the card. The 3 children are all very close.

Send one to each of the kids and the ex. Make sure you keep it short and simple. Just say you were sad to hear the news about their Dad. Then if you remember some nice thing about him or a fun time you had with him, mention that. You can also say he will be missed by everyone that knew him.
