I am a junior who aspires to go to a top business college such as Penn, Virginia, etc. I have taken AP World, US, and Physics B. How many AP Classes should I take in order to have the greatest chance of getting into a school like Penn. I am thinking about some combination of AP Physics C, AP Calc AB or BC, AP Economics, AP Euro, and AP Psychology. Which of these will look the best in the eyes of admissions officers, and how many should I take? Also, there is a class Advanced Marketing which seems like a good business class to prepare but it is not a rigorous AP course, and I would probably have to cut out an AP to take it. Should I take the class? Thanks for your help.

Take as many AP classes as you can -- especially in math and the sciences. I doubt that the marketing class will help you -- especially if it means taking one less AP class. You can always take a marketing class in college.

Take all of the AP classes you can get. Admissions officers look at all of your courses you have taken. AP classes are at a college level so if you take them and perform at a high level you will have a chance of getting in. Additionally, you may be able to test out of some of your freshman year classes which will save you a lot of time and money regardless of where you go!! Good luck! :)

I would suggest taking classes that relate to the major you want. Physics and Chemistry won't help much in business, but Economics and Marketing definitely will. I took AP biology senior year but went to school for music. Now I have one less science class to take.

Also, don't put too much stress yourself by taking too many tough classes. Stick with the classes that will help you later in your career. I would take the marketing class, AP Economics, and maybe AP Euro.

I would say for a business school take calc (def bc it is much harder in college) and Econ as first priority courses. I took AP English, Calc BC, and Physics ( I got into my first choice college and got a pretty good scholarship). I would take the marketing course unless the school only cares about GPA. Then again you do not want to spend your entire senior year doing school work so you might want to take it as an easy class that still applies to what you want to go to school for. Good Luck and have a great senior year!!

There are career and school curriculum counselors whose job it is to help you with exactly this question. Utilize them. (the counselors from a college you are considering will help you if you ask). Don't forget that extra curricular activities are also considered important to admissions people. They want well rounded social students in addition to being smart. Good luck to you!

I would take as many AP courses as you can. I don't think what they are is as important as that you are taking them across an array of subjects. Schools like UPenn and UVA like to see that you are challenging yourself. I wouldn't worry about it if you don't take Advanced Marketing.

Well I am currently a sophmore at a college prep school and they are always telling us that schools look at your involvement in the community and school more than your academic standards so take the classes that will best help you in the major you are choosing and if you have questions go see your guidance counselor. But remember STAY INVOLVED IN SCHOOL!!!! Good Luck!
