Curling is played with a team of 4 people. Basically in championship games there are ten ends(kind of like innings in baseball). In each end each team throws 8 rocks, 2 from each player, alternating teams. On each rock that a team throws there is the SKIP(team leader and strategist), deliverer(the one throwing the rock), and 2 sweepers. At the completion of an end you count the score. You get one point if you are the closest rock to the button, and one more point for each of your rocks that is closer than your opponent's closest rock (NOTE: only rocks within the house(target) can count for points). At the end of the game the team with the most points wins.
That was a very basic explanation if you want more than this follow the links that the other answerers gave.
