I'm doing a Psychology project where I have to interperate dreams according to both Freud and Jung (sp?), and I can't seem to find a website with Freudian dream symbols! I have a list of Jung's, so it's only Freud that's bugging me! Thanks! :D

That's easy...if the object is even the slightest bit phallic in shape, it's a penis.

Freud cracks me up....lol!

Good luck!

Try this: http://library.thinkquest.org/C005545/english/dream/freud.htm

(bottom of page...)

I'm a psych student myself, and dream researcher...and I don't mean to make light of Freud at all...I do think he's on to something with dreams revealing unconscious or subconscious desires and fears. And I do think that there really is symbolism in dreams, however, I resist the notion that symbolisms are universal. But good luck with your project...fascinating subject!

I can recommend a book for you. How to interpret your own dreams by Tom Chetwynd. It is a dream dictionary which uses both Freudian and Jungian interpretation. As for trying to find Freudian symbols on the web, you probably won't have much luck. Freud based most of his symbolism on repressed sexuality. Everything tended to point to the male and female sex organs.
