Yes of course. Simply connect up your iPod, load up iTunes and select your iPod on the left hand side. You can just delete and add songs as you please.
You can't delete songs from the device though.

It's possible on a regular mp3 player - plug the iPod into your computer and use the Explorer (the folders where you can see a list of the files/documents in it). Right-click the song(s) you want out, and choose Delete in the drop-down list that appears.
Works for my mp3 player, should work for an iPod!
Edit: whoops, just remembered MacIntosh doesn't do "right-click" - it should still allow you to select a song and delete it though. Or try choosing menu when listening to a song you want to delete on your iPod, it should give you an option to delete it that way too.

By classic do you mean the 20 gig? well i have the 20 gig and all you do is plug into your computer, get on itunes wait for comp to recognize your ipod. then on the left side of itunes where all the play lists and stuff are there will be the name of what you typed in for your ipod. click on that and will show you all the songs on your ipod just select the song, right click and hit delete

Yes it is , just click the ipod in itunes and a list will come up select music , find the song you want to delete , highlight it and you will see a list with delete on it. Just delete and your done.

Yes on your itunes libary you can uncheck the albums, songs, artists, you don't want to be on your ipod. You may have to delete them off itunes though if they still appear, but you can keep the music files just not on the ipod.

Just delete it from itunes....if you still want the song on ur comp and just no on the ipod then uncheck it on itunes
then when u plug in ur ipod to the comp, say "only sync checked items"

yes, on itunes there will be little squares by your songs. click the ones you want to delete, and go to the top and press the DELETE button.

yeah you can. when you plug in your i-pod to the computer a window will pop up with all your songs. then all you have to do is delete the songs. and they will be gone from your i-pod
