i know we came from monkeys but where did the monkeys come from?and what was the first living thing on earth and how did it evolve?and also more than 50% of the earth is water so where did the water come from?when earth was created, it was just land with lava so where did it come from?some say the water came from ice from meteors, but you need water to make ice so where did the ice come from.others say the steam from the volcanoes turned into water but, you need water to make steam,so where did it all begin?

first of all, we did NOT evolve from monkeys but rather our evolutionary lineage was going at around the same time, meaning we evolved from a common ancestor, not a monkey
the basis of life revolve around amino acids (aka protein)
amino acids form everything organic from DNA to hair
amino acids form from inorganic materials with a little electricity, heat and timing, which was abundant during earth's formation. the acids combined to form simple single celled organisms and in time they evolved into multicelled organisms
now, the origin of water
to make water, all you need is to light hydrogen on fire
lighting hydrogen on fire would make it combine with water thus forming water
the most abundant element in the universe is hydrogen
and stars also form other elements including oxygen
our solar system was created from remnants of a giant star
so there was plenty of oxygen and hydrogen flying around
the two elements get caught together inside or earth since it is light, and escapes together from the ground as water vapor/steam due to the extreme heat
same concept can be applied to comets

Chas cha is a creationist. They typically accuse the sciences of being religious while their beliefs are based solely on the bible. Creationists usually don't have a clue about the science. And where they do know the science, they invariably, and deliberately, misrepresent it in order to deceive people about it. Since their claims are based on myth and superstition, they should be categorically rejected.

There are some hypotheses about the origins of life on earth. There are many good sites which can give you information. Look up "abiogenesis." It is believed that life originated as self-replicating molecules. They probably resembled small strands of DNA or protein. This was long, long before the first cell. It took a half billion years of chemical evolution for them to come about.

We did evolve from apes. We ARE apes. Apes evolved from creatures we would probably call monkeys. Mammals trace back to small rodent like creatures which lived well back into the dinosaur epoch. Go back far enough and our ancestors were single celled creatures like slime mold. Farther still, 3 billion years ago, our ancestors were like bacteria.

CReationists like Chas cha can't swallow that. It is contrary to their holy myth. And they have the nerve to call scientists religious and dogmatic! Evolution, despite the head-burying denials of the creationists, is based on an abundant, conclusive, multi-disciplinary, and collectively incontrovertible body of evidence.

Chas cha, God IS a fairy tale! Prove otherwise.

No one knows. It could have been a random event, or it could have been a deliberate act by a Higher Power. Nothing in science proves it one way or the other.

Brant - You need to distinguish between two types of Creationists.

Young Earth Creationists say the Earth is 6000 years old, and deny science.

Old Earth Creationists say it's 4.5 billion years old, and accept all of science. They just say a Higher Power had a hand in it; and nothing in science proves them wrong. To claim there is no God is every bit as much an act of faith as to say there is.

Many excellent scientists are Old Earth Creationists.

Chas_chas_123's post doesn't really indicate which he is.

We did not come from monkeys!
(Nor did we evolve from some ape-like common ancestor).
This is the evolutionary hypothesis, but it is not supported by the evidence. All homind fossils are either ape or man - nothing in-between.

The hypothesis that life spontaneiously arose from non-life is called abiogenesis, and has no scientific support whatsoever.
All evidence shows that this is quite impossible.

These ideas are promoted by evolutionists for philosphical (religious) reasons, not for scientific reasons. The alternative to evolution is creation. Some people will believe in fairy tales rather than accept God.
