He WON'T get the nomination. Not even close. He can run as a third party candidate if he wants, but no one will pay any attention and he will be a big joke. He should quit now and go home and stop embarrasing himself and his followers.

Ron Paul already tried that. He ran in the 80s as a Libertarian. I think he realizes that running as a independent will only split the Republican vote. I like Ron Paul, but I hope he does not run as an independent. After all, look what happened last time there was a strong independent candidate. Ross Perot ran as an independent in 92, split the Republican vote and we got Bill Clinton!!

he has already declared that he will not run as a thrid party candidate, that he is a Republican and will only participate as a Republican..... I wish he would reconsider, for some reason he comes off as an eccentric... oddly enough in America we prefer the slick deceptive lies of the rich elite than the truth of a good honest man.... so instead of gaining a true Patriot we will end up with the likes of Hillary or Romney, or Dingleberrry or whatever his name is.....

even on the Demacrat side a better candidate would be Kucinich but he comes off as not credible....oddly if you follow his voting record, his votes the first time around though less popular at first is usually how everyone likes to spew the if i knew what i know now i would have voted differently...accepting the fact they voted wrong the first time... but will always say they were misled....or voted the popular way first, now it isn't popular and they wish they could change thier vote ......

ron paul stands up for what is right and constitutional.......he has my vote

Yes otherwise once again I Willl be forced to decide who is the lesser of two evils, the less incompetent candidate, and which candidate rode the short bus the least. In short if he does not run as third party candidate I Will vote so I still have my right to complain, but I wil be voting once again for a special interest, corporate owned puppet who will damage this nation even more, not a man who understood the vision our founding father had.

hopefully, no one.

the recent history of third party candidates is that they've siphoned votes away from the "nearer" candidate and thus helped elect the one farther away.

Example: Bill Clinton was elected with the help of that right wing Texas guy who paid for his own campaign. Clinton did not win a majority of the votes cast while Perot won the vote outright in zero states [and thus got zero electoral college votes].

Example: Wallace had the same effect back in the 70's.

Example: Woodrow Wilson became President in exactly this way back in 1912.

If the RNC does not have Ron Paul on their ticket, I know many, including myself, who will vote Democrat.

Ron Paul is the ONLY Republican that I will vote for.

The Libertarian Party now endorses Ron Paul, but he has already said REPEATEDLY that he will not run on a third party ticket.

He is a 10 term Republican Congressman, he will not change parties.

Yes, I think he should, but he said he wouldn't. That might be because he ran as a Libertarian in 1988 but didn't get in.

I do. I think it would be unfair to those who donated to him if he didnt. Especially if he doesnt spend all of the money given to him.

Personally, I don't think he should have ever run on the Republican Party ticket. He should have run as a third party candidate all along. I think his chances were better that way.
