If you haven't had a problem feeding before it's probably nothing major. It's that time of year now. Many snakes will go off of food during the winter months. Just keep trying every week or so. Maybe try mice instead of rats. I've had snakes that stop eating all winter long. As long as he doesn't start losing a lot of weight he'll be fine. His appetite will come back when the weather starts to warm up again.

When people tell you that it's ok for a snake to go for a long period of time without eating, they're wrong. Just because the snake survived, does not mean it's the correct way to keep them.
I have been keeping ball pythons for years, and they almost NEVER miss a feeding.
I don't know what you're doing wrong, but here are some common mistakes that people make:
- Not keeping the snake warm enough. Check your temps.
-Not providing a proper hideout. Ball pythons like small, TIGHT hide boxes.
-Disturbing the snake at feeding time. Do NOT handle the snake, remove it's hide box, and definitely do NOT move it into a different cage. These activities can throw a finicky eater off feed.
- Presenting the mouse (never feed live!) with your hand. Use a forceps or hemostat instead, while it's in its hide box; it is less obtrusive.

Being a cold blooded reptile, the snake's metabolism slows down in cold weather and it doesn't require as much nutrition. Pythons are known for eating irregular meals anyway; a large meal is a noticeable bulge inside a snake. It takes a while to digest and the animal may not need to eat again for some time.

completely ordinary. Ball Pythons are popular to rapid for months at a time, frequently for the period of the iciness, yet sometimes its diverse. it certainly relies upon on the snake. save a record of while he eats and how plenty. by making use of doing this, you will ultimately have the skill to verify a development of while he's going to rapid and for how long. good success, and as long because of the fact the snake keeps a healthful weight, you haven't any longer something to rigidity approximately ^^

not sure what crawled up Dion J's @$$, but ive read multiiple times that ball pythons fast because of stress [low heat, handling, hides are not good enough] because of the winter months or because of no apparent reason, so long as ur snake doesnt seem to lose weight ur good!, hell my ball python is fasting right now!
