As a republican I am told I must ignore all distinctions or I am a racist and yet all of our statistics are written up in racial distinction.

If your skin is so thin that you are offended if I notice a problem an ethnic group has how am I supposed to fix it?

You do not have to fix anything. You are right and they need to deal with their issues. You do not have any issues.

the unfortunate reality is that race does matter. In my state the education officials love to say that we are among the top states in educational achievement which is true but when you compare our results to white cohorts, we fall to near the middle- educational achievement is different among races. Now like most republican leaning people, I believe that blacks and hispanics can achieve the same standards whereas democrat leaning people usually feel that the standards must be lowered for them- personally I feel this is racist but that is an opinion.
I say that ignoring the problems within certain groups whether it racial , economic or other, serves no purpose except to allow the problems to continue. We need to man up, get tough if needed and try to solve the problems rather than ignoring them so as not to offend. I think we need more people like Joe Clark from Lean on Me, that will get tough and hold people accountable, parents and communities need to support people like him who actually care and will use tough love if that is what it takes

It's a vocabulary problem.

Reading and Creative writing has been eliminated from the public school curriculum for 3 decades now.

It isn't so much that asking a racial question is wrong. It is most people answering the question lacks the skills to answer beyond "your'ah racist"

That combination automatically equals a TOS violation

I guess that would make Bill Cosby an anti-black racist.

Until we stop measuring things by race, the problem will never go away. Dr. King wanted a colorblind society, which is the ideal goal. He'd turn over in his grave if he saw how all things were now measured by race.

Vote for Rudy!

The word "Racist" is used to attack a person, because there is no defense to it, whether one is guilty of it or not. Those who would use the word know this, so USE it, then laugh at the ridiculousness of it! I have personally seen this happen a 1000 times! Once someone tails you with a name like "Racist", you're through!.....Except if you're a Liberal like Joe Biden....then you can get away with it!

Why do Black leaders proclaim that Obama isn't acting Black enough? If a White leader said that he was not acting white enough they would be called racist. Race is only an issue when it benefits certain people to be so.

Most thinking minority members realize that many of their problems have been caused by liberalism, not conservatism. Liberalism is the cause of the entitlement mentality that has kept many of them from becoming productive on their own. Those who don't realize what has happened to them would naturally look on anyone who tries to upset the status quo as being a racist. That epithet is normally used by white liberal politicians and school teachers who find it more convenient to call conservatives "racist" than try to articulate their own position in a positive way, which in most cases is an impossibility.

I wonder about that myself. If I'm on campus and I want to start a "white homecoming king and queen" or a "white sorority or fraternity" or a "white newspaper" or if I started the WET (White Entertainment Network) on TV etc. etc you get the point, I would be labeled a racist. But African Americans start these groups and are deemed enlightened or brave or empowering their people. I don't get it.

The Dems need victims for their social programs. If Republicans fix the minorities problems, the Dems lose votes.
So, any time a Republican suggests a solution for a social problem, the Dems have to brand them as evil racists to try to keep their base intact.
Its simply self defense on the part of the Democrats.

why define someone elses problem? You can not fix the problems in the black community. They have to be willing to address it,then we can only offer assistance(not talking about money). The issue is not political issue, don't try to make it one.
