Let him make you something. I feel that way too if I don't get someone something. Tell him that it will mean more to you if he draws you a picture then buys something. Then when he gives it to you, display it in your room. It will probably mean more to you than any other gifts.

If he really has his heart set on getting you a present, then why doesn't he ask Mom or Dad to take him to the mall? If he was my son I would be so touched by this, that I would definitely take him out to get a present. My kids are 8 and 11 and neither one of them has mentioned buying the other a present. I wish they would be more thoughtful like your brother. I think that is about the nicest thing I've heard! Get him to ask Mom or Dad.

Well, if he is set on getting you something then nothing you say will matter. I had this problem with my baby sister when she was younger. Just tell him that you would love if he would draw you a picture, color a picture, write a poem, etc...for Christmas. That way he can give you something but doesn't have to worry about getting to the mall.

Do you guys have computer access? What my step-daughter does is make Cds for people if she knows that they don't have a certain one. Like she knows my niece loves Hannah Montana, Jonas brothers, High School Musical, etc. She burns those CDs and give them to her.
I am the youngest of 4 kids and when we were younger my mom would give us some money to get each other and our parents gifts.

I teach K and some of them get me presents, but others don't. The ones that feel bad, I just tell them, the BEST present you can give me is a hug! (or color a picture, or play a game with me or write me a nice note, etc).

That's SO sweet! Tell him that Christmas is not about getting presents,it's about the love that is shared.

Say to him that it's not about presents, tell him it's about family and friends being together, and that it doesn't matter if he gets you something or not. That's soo sweet though!
