I believe that the U.S.A. wanted to have more power in middle eastern areas and decided why not invade and try to build a democracy government there. Also since it's been awhile since the communism stuff happened and yet there is still communism in the world the government wanted to show commies that the world will someday be a world of "peace and democracy".Even though the real truth of democracy is to instill fear into the minds of the people and also keep the majority of the population under a healthy lifestyle of control so no one will mess up the government type of democracy. And the terrorists decided to attack U.S. soil.So the government didn't want to look weak in any way so they decided to ultimatly invade the (or most of) area where the terrorists thrive and use the countries in the middle east as a hiding place and pretty much hiding behind the governments of the countries they hide at.I myself find the acts of the terrorists cowardly acts and dishonorable acts of war. They hide in caves and attack and run.Even if their thoughts of religion say that we are the devil of the west, they should at least have the dignity to stand up and fight us face to face.

First, it's not true that "no weapons have been found." They have found chemical weapons, just not the huge stockpiles that we expected.

But the answer is simple. Everybody, from the U.N. and Kofi Annan, to the Democrat Party, including Bill & Hillary, John Kerry, and most of the rest, believed that Saddam had these massive stockpiles.

Saddam himself may have believed it. While his people had been unable to produce them, they would have been terrified to tell them of their failures. "Sorry, Mr. Hussein, we can't make the weapons you asked for. No! Don't! AIIEEE!"

In the process, however, we did remove an evil dictator and his two sons. You know, Uday & Qusay, the guys who used to bust into weddings, kill the groom, and rape the bride. You remember them, don't you?

The world is a better place, Iraq is calming down, and we now have a strong ally in the region.

And don't forget, Moamar Qadafi of Libya did have a nuclear weapons program, and he ended it and turned all his nuclear material over to the U.S. after he saw what happened to Iraq. That alone makes it worthwhile.

Don't be silly, you / U.S. went to war to get oil for the future generations. In general Bush did a good thing for his country and people. But this action does make him a type of an aggressor, oppressor of the weak.

Cronyism, greed, controlling the oil in the Middle East that the Taliban and Hussein were unwilling to give up, the ability to charge any price they want by having control over so much of the world's limited supply of oil, etc.

Because Bush and Cheney are both draft dodgers they don't understand the cost of war. They are greedy and did it for oil.

Well, other than the fact Saddam was a Hitler wannabe, Saddam only killed 1 million people, and the fact Saddam was violating more U.N. sanctions than he could count, "Oil for Food" for example, and because Saddam snubbed his nose at the treaty he signed at the end of Gulf War 1 were enough reasons to go to war.

There is no good reason.. he will babble all sort of things to us, but the bottom line is...OIL! For his friends, for him, for daddy.

5000 Americans dead and now he can retire a very wealthy man... Isn't life grand?

There's an answer, but no one in the Bush inner circle is going to say, "We went to war for oil and to enrich the military industrial complex."

But, that IS the answer.

Because Saddam tried to kill Bush's daddy and Bush wanted to get re-elected. No war, no re-election.
