I wasn't adopted but my mother used to joke about me being adopted when I was younger. I believed her for a long time. Sometimes I feel like I'm adopted because I'm different from my other family members on certain aspects.

My stepfather and I didn't formally do the adoption thing, but we even maintained our relationship for years after he and my mom divorced.
Sucked when he disowned me, though...not many guys get to be disowned by two dads.
Thankfully, I'm 39 now and Mom doesn't seem to be in a dating mood so there's not even a chance of a third :)
