He really is the third party candidate that people are looking for, but he won't run as such because he doesn't want to split the Republican vote.

In a way your brother in law is correct. This happened with John Edwards in 2004. The people then were not ready to hear his Socialist message. Now they are more willing because it is one of the top issues is the economy.

Ron Paul is raising money again today. We'll see how much he raises, then your b-i-l may change his mind.

I guess it will take a USSR like fall of the US with Southern California and New Mexico and Texas and Arizona claiming Mexico as theyre homeland before someone like Paul will be elected. We outspent the USSR into ruin and its borderlands became independant. Now we are spending ourselves into ruin and it is apperant to anyone who gives a cursory glance.

Ron Paul is an economist. He really doesn't specialize in many of the other issues people are concerned about. People are not comfortable electing someone too far from the norm. I don't think the economy will hit the fan either.

Well, there is still a year to go. I paid $900,000.00 for my one bedroom condo. Countrywide told me I could have it for free...but I still can't afford $3.50 for gas...
