I think it's a very sweet idea, and everyone will treasure them.
Oh and a tip for the pictures; try to make sure your clothes match your brother's. It'll look more coordinated that way.

That is a great idea, it is actually what I am doing for my family this year, however my theme is my niece, she was 5 and killed in April. I am making copies of a memory book for the adults in my family. I have made several books before as gifts and they are always a favorite. Nothing beats a one of a kind gift, be sure to include stories i would feature a few favorite pictures, make a layout where they are the only photos on the page and journal the story behind it, then put a similar journal block (Blank) on the same page, so your sister can journal her own side of the story. For my Sisters pages I have used partners in crime, Life made us sisters choice made us friends, You and I will always be friends who share a family tree, I'll grow up when you do, and through the years; as page topics and let the pictures fall into whichever category they do. Be sure to put in accomplishments that you have acheived not only together, but seperately, vacation spots, pets and friends and family who have passed on. Just for fun I would have a we are alike, we are different or like night and day topic, or even a Mom likes me best page. Remember that you don't need to have the whole thing done at one time, a Scrapbook is something you can add to over the years and do together. Enjoy and hope it helps

Considering your age, and the fact that you say your family doesn't have any nice photos of the two of you, I think it's a great idea. If you were an adult who just gives photos all the time to get out of giving "real" gifts then I would say the idea stinks, but that isn't the case here. Go for it! I think they will love it.

I guess if the people really love you and haven't had any recent pictures of you lately, it is nice. I know I would love it if Johnny Depp gave me a framed picture of him that he had done especially for me.(Johnny, if you are out there, listen up!!)

I think it is a great idea.
I think that your family would love it.
I did the same thing (with my husband) for our family and had also worried that it would be a weird gift.
But everyone loved it! More than I would have thought.

Why don't you give them only to your parents and grandparents, along with at least one other present? Then if aunts and uncles et al. exclaim, "Oh, what a nice picture of you! Can I get a copy?" you can have more made.
