No, and what's worse, the courts, several years ago, gradually started giving Corps the same rights and priviliges as individuals. But almost by definition they care only about the profit margin and do not, therefore, have a conscience.

Now, not all non-profit are good, but for every good non-profit there is ten bad cooporations out their taking advantage of certain strange rights that this form of business.
Cooporations are treated as if they are individuals in tax matters. This gives corporations a huge break in terms of profitability as I understand the issue. Corporations are not individuals in any sense of the word other than how the government treats them for tax purposes.
Talk about freedom. See is freedom without responsibility or accounting. How else would we understand the Enron phenomenon. Here is a cooperation that had the ear and shared the bed with the Vice President and President of the United States. At the same time, the government was giving Enron and its wealthy owners and employees at the top giant breaks economically, legally and personally.
So, in the case of Enron and the Executive Department of the United states, someone would have been pregnant in 2001 and producing little hybrid cooperation running around spilling thousand dollar bills all over the green painted lawns of the White House.
Cooporations are not bad, cooporations according to law are regulated like abandoned children, the unwashed, unwise and uneducated in morals or ethics, and friends of the royal court.

Corporations have more right then individuals.
Thats why they can change names and the debts they incurred are wiped out. Try doing that your self.
Corporations can have limited liability if they F -up. Individuals do not have such rights.
Corporations only exist to improve- increase the stock value of the company. Any thing else to a corporation does not matter.

Because they're better at it than our government. Corps need to get results, or they go out of business.
