When I retired, I moved from San Francisco to San Antonio. I love it. Friendly people, not so competitive as CA. Great entertainment, restaurants and the like. Less expensive. I live much better there on a fixed income. And I like the Hill Country, have friends with a horse ranch. There is always something interesting going on.

I just moved from San Antonio to DC. I love Texas, it's warm, it's cheap to live, Mexico is a couple hours away. Lots to do, people are nice. When I retire, I'm moving back. Our best friends still live there!
I miss it :(
Why do you ask?

I did once and got out of there as quick as I could. Texas is miles and miles of just more miles and miles. Anyway you cross the state it's 800 miles.
