Songs that tell a story are called narrative in style. They include ballads, such as "Flora, the Lily of the West", silly songs like "Rocky Racoon" by the Beatles, and one that is very apropros for your question, another one by Dylan, "Like a Rolling Stone".

Harry Chapin was the best storyteller of all time! Listen to the words of the song "A Better Place To Be". I saw him in concert with thousands of people and when he did that song, you could've heard a pin drop. It was totally awesome!
