Only an educated people can keep their freedom. In America the public schools have been failing for so long that the many of the people are not aware of what must be done to maintain their freedom and because of that they don't properly value their freedom and are allowing it to be gradually taken in the guise of a security blanket liberals say will protect us all. In reality it is our job as a free people to be our own providers and protectors. With freedom comes responsibility, and without proper education the people don't know what their responsibilities are.
I believe the proper verb conjugation would be "are" not "is" in your question...

Life is about options. We make a great number everyday. we learn by making mistakes which options are useful and which not (most of the time.) Education is about learning from others mistakes.
Some people never know they have the choice. Take phobias. Some (many) believe they have to suffer them as there is no alternative. Over the years I have not only learned that ALL phobias can be extinguished but have learned how it is so easy to do.
Education IS Freedom.

yes and no ~~
you see.. the more educated you are the more knowledge you get.. but sometimes ie (mainland china those communist ppl) they brain wash their kids and so education is there but the freedom of speech and the freedom of thought is not there..
you do anything that disturbs the party today .. tomorrow you dissapear
so education at the same time gives one freedom and also chain them up in a specific mode of thought
