random i know, but i need to know what makes a platypus cell different from a normal animal cell

A platypus is an animal. Therefore, by definition any regular cell from a regular platypus is a regular animal cell.

The only thing that makes, say, an epithelial cell from the lining of a platypus' mesentery and one taken from a porcupine is that one was taken from a platypus, and one was taken from a porcupine.

Structurally, in terms of organelles and function, they would be nearly identical.

There is no difference, except for the number of chromosomes characteristic of the species.
