how they never lower prices and its not fair! I bet its because

Don't the manufacturers decide the retail value?

It all comes down to a sort of legal price fixxing. All the game compaies have to pay for the right to publish on a game platform and they all sort of agree that they should make about the same level of return per unit sold. What happens is that the competition is not in unit price them but in number of units sold.

Games cost a huge amount to create in the first place. Before the devlopers/publishers can make some of that back, they don't want to drop the prices.

She's right. The stores are told how low they can drop their prices, no matter what they paid for them. Most things are that way.
Complain to the makers, but they are in it to make money.
