i am doing a project on the appalachians..which is located in canada ans US..
but i am doing the canadian 1..i need 2 knw som good details abt the appalachians..

Do your own homework, there is plenty of references on the net. Don't use Wikepedia though, as anyone can upload crap without any check of the facts posted there. If you use that as a reference your teacher will think you are a moron.

I wish I could tell you more about the Appalachians up there. I deal with the southern Appalachians mostly.

Here are some things you should look up:

Appalachian orogeny (Taconic, Acadian, Alleghenian orogenies)

Caledonian orogeny. Some if the rocks in Maine and Canada are thought to be from the Caledonian orogeny and some people think the Appalachian and Caledonian orogenies are the same thing.

Laurentia and Gondwanna

Foreland fold thrust belts

Some names you want to look for are R.D. Hatcher, Jr., M.G. Steltenpohl, McBride, Hopson, R.B. Cook
