Athletes foot is most common in athletes because the heightened level of physical activity causes increased perspiration of the feet. The increased moisture level in the shoes creates an ideal environment for fungus to grow.

because people get athletes foot because of sweat and dirty water left on your foot for a long time. More often than not, athletes get it because of the amount they sweat.

Might be because trainers or sneakers if you prefer used to be made from synthetic materials that wouldn't allow moisture to leave the shoe allowing the foot to breathe, and the warm, moist area between the toes became infected with the fungus.

Two reasons: Sweaty feet are most likely to grow the "athelete's foot" fungus. Also, it can be spread from person to person in certain environments, particularly in those where people are sharing showers, like in a locker room.
