If your asking, I would say "no".
I'm sorry Doc, but I dont think that's what going to make you feel better.
I detected a little bit of a resentment.
Resentment usually "poisons" the container that it is in.
As you give and forgive it will come back to you, tenfold.
Call her and ask her about Hailey, even ask her would she consider you having the dog.
If she says no, move on. Enjoy the memories of the dog and know that you can have another one (not trying to simplify your feelings by saying that)
You have given Hailey all the meaning that she has,for you. I'm sure there is another dog, (especially in a shelter) waiting for just your kind of specialness and Love.
Your friend

If you are serious about keeping in contact with your daughter then ask Dawn to take the test. Explain that you are 1 million% on her side and dont believe for one second that she is an addict, but that ifshe loves you she will take the test because your daughter is extremly important to you. If she still refuses to take the test then its clear that your feelings aren't that important to her, and she isn't the right woman for you. If she does take the test and it comes back clean then Stacy has no ground to stand on, as she is wrong in her accusations. If it comes back positive then you will have to make a choice between your daughter and Dawn, bearing in mind that she has been lying to you over her drug usage. Blood is thicker than anything else, Dawn could leave anytime she wanted but your daughter will always be your daughter.

For the sake of Hailey, let Her stay with Mom, and the house that she knows. Besides, you're a bunny, a Doctor; but no less ~ a bunny and bunnies shouldn't own dogs.

My ex wants to see our dog every other weekend but I told him if he wants to share custody then he can pay for half of the expenses it takes to take care of her, food, medicine, vet bills etc... He didn't agree and my dog is perfectly happy where she is.

Do what you have to do, what your instincts tell you but whatever you both adults do, remember the "well being" of your "little Hailey" !!

At first I was going to say no since kids suck. Since it is a dog I'll say yes.
