Did he and Buzz Aldrin reach it, or was it all faked in a studio like some people say?

It sure was not fake, I watched it all happen, I watched the launch and the Eagle land and Niel Armstrong take one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind, then I watched as the lunar modual splashed down in the ocean,, There are many who think it was fake but they dont know what they are talking about,,

There are numerous claims to support what people saw in TV was fake. To quote a couple :
1. a waving US flag when there should be no wind on the moon (because of no air),
2. shadows of astronauts sustaining at different angles suggested there were more than one light source (while the only one source should be the Sun)
While there are very strong arguments supporting such claims I think Buzz and Neil from the Apollo 11 mission did land on the moon (despite some footage might indeed come from earlier studio shoot).

The fact that the Apollo mission was happening at the height of the cold war, the whole mission would be closely watched by the USSR, both on earth and in space (they already have satellite then). As such, the Soviets would be more than eager to ridicule the Americans if the moon landing was fake.

The moon landings were among the most heavily documented events in human history. Tens of thousands of individuals were involved. The USSR would have LOVED to have proven the landings to be a hoax. But there are still those who simply can't believe it was real. I suppose they won't believe it when some lunar-orbiting satellite snaps photos of the landing sites, either, or when the Tranquility Base site eventually becomes a national (or international) park.

The arguments sported by well, well, well, and referenced in the link by UV-O, aren't just weak, they're wrong. They aren't just wrong, they're stupid. And in some cases, the evidence presented by Sibrel and others is hoaxed itself; deliberate fraud, like cropping a photo and then saying it was impossible and that NASA must have faked it. Yeah, that's the kind of guy some of these people believe without question.

Go to http://www.clavius.org/

That should open your eyes.

For a couple others here, these "strong" arguments as you call them, have been utterly debunked. The shadows, the flag, the absence of stars, and any of the list of ridiculous, ill-informed, dishonest objections to one of the greatest achievements of humankind.

Ultraviolet Oasis, go to the Clavius site if YOU dare to learn the truth.

It is amazing that some people still give credence to the conspiracy theories that the lunar landings were faked. I was there...they were very real. Tens and hundreds of thousands of dedicated, intelligent, creative professionals worked for a decade and their work culminated in one of the most incredible events in human history. Penn and Teller did a wonderful refutation of these crazy ideas (dare I call them lunacies?) on one of their episodes of BullSh*t on cable. Watch it and be amused and convinced.

I started to watch the conspiracy video that ULTRAVIOLET OASIS places so much faith in until that bimbo appeared and talked about the flag waving on the airless moon. Obviously anything in the video beyond that point was bound to be pure idiocy and/or fantasy.

I am afraid that you will get few responses from those who were there (as I was) because they are so burned out from answering this same question dozens of times. There is absolutely no possibility that any of the landings were faked.

I've seen those videos claiming it to be a fake.

And I revealed the evidence for most of them. Most of the claims are done with a minimal background of engineering and background. You can read refutations by physics people and engineers everywhere.

It's pretty much real.

Of course they did. Can you imagine how many thousands of scientists, politicians and NASA workers would have had to be in on the hoax, and not a one has come forward in 38 years?

Some people say the world is flat

Some people say life is fair.

Some people say Dick Cheney doesn't have a bionic heart.

You know what I say?
