It's hard to explain, but I want to do turn this...

Cat
Dog
Fish
Sheep

Into this...

Cat, Dog, Fish, Sheep

This isn't my real list of words; the list that I have has so many it would take me forever to format it this way. Is there an easier way to do this?

Assuming they're all on separate lines, you can do this with Find and Replace:

1. Select all your items.
2. Click the Edit->Replace menu item.
3. In the Find What text box, enter ^p (that's the SHIFT/6 key and a p as separate characters. ^p stands for an end-of-paragraph mark).
4. In the Replace With text box, enter the text you want between the entries, probably a comma and a space.
5. Click the Replace All button.
6. If this doesn't do exactly what you want, Undo will undo them all so you can try again.

That should do it.

The easiest way is to enter them into an Excel spread sheet putting each into a box all in the same row. Then save that Excel spreadsheet in CSV (comma- separated variables) format. Excel will make a text file that has all of those items separated by a comma each.
