My wife says right before, but my ex liked sex during, and hey i did too.
I have found that most of the women I have dated get that way around the end of their periods, and if you are lucky they will like it durring.

A) anything you cannot have you want if it's not a bad thing
and B) hormone level pretty much tell you ok get back in there your clear for another month of mating.
