Can I be counter-sued in small claims court? Are they trying to intimidate me so that I drop the charges?

I am suing for $2000. I gave the CPA $1500 to handle a few tax issues. He never did a thing. He would never return my phone calls. I begged for an itemized list of the things he accomplished and I never got it. Initially, the CPA informed me (even warned me), that other CPAs milk clients for thousands and do nothing. Looking back, I realize the guy was projecting. "HE" was the one who milked people. I reported him to the BBB, and the state CPA association. All I want is my money back. I never had any services rendered to me.

By the way, never respond to postcards from CPAs mailed to your home. They promise you the stars and deliver nothing. They appear to be scams.

Small Claims courts do not allow attorneys to represent clients. This court is between the defendant and accuser. The judge makes the final ruling.

He is trying to scare you into dropping the charges. If you have proof of all your dealings with this man then you will be OK. He just doesn't want his nice easy money making system destroyed. Call his bluff! HE'LL get the court costs awarded against HIM. Good luck.
