Actually. That is just about right. If you have Adobe Suite CS2 and Microsoft Office fully installed with all options and installed Vista and have Norton fully installed it should come to way over 80Gb. 250-80=170 means you have LESS than full installs. If you do not need these programs then remove some of them.

Music? Movies? What do you mean by Adobe? That's the name of a company? The Adobe Suite applications take up a lot of room if you have those. You must be missing something big otherwise. Run CCleaner and get rid of the recycle bin, internet files, etc.

A couple of points of intreset for you.
If you have
Vista,
Microsoft Office Suite.
Adobe Photoshop CS
Norton Internet Security Suite
Then I can understand the programs listed above are 4 of the largest resource hogs on the market.

Not a question I can answer in one go.
Can you prove to us that your hard drive is only showing 170GB? Better to go to a forum like theeldergeek.com and seek an answer.
It would be easy to use 80GB after a month, so I'd need to see some facts about this disk prior to making any type of advice.

it depends what types of the windows. there are a lot differences between them such as vista home, ultimate or enterprise. as i know, vista needs huge space. the other probability is maybe debris such as temporary file was in your com and then you have set the default system system restore. those things need a lot of space.

Run CCleaner, as suggested above. A program called DriveUse will explain where all your space went.
