Peppermint tea works great, or peppermints. There's a great face masque called Queen Helen Mint Julep Masque. It looks kinda funny when you have it on but it feels really good and it works. You can find it at almost any dollar store or wal-mart and it's not expensive.

Drink lots of water. Dehydration can make uterine cramping worse. I'm not aware of foods that are proven to help with cramps. Honestly your best friend should be Ibuprofen at this time. Ibuprofen works to decrease the production of prostaglandins, which cause menstrual cramps. My doctor told me it's OK to take 2 or 3 Advil's at the start of the pain and then continuously take an Advil every 4-6 hours to prevent breakthrough pain. I would also recommend this to my patients regarding menstrual cramps. Heat also works well, so get yourself a warm bath.

When you have cramps try to sit still watch TV and relax. Try drinking carbonated drinks and water. Milk or juice usually makes it worse. You could try Purel Stress Relieving Face Lotion,it worked for me. If you want natural relaxation try smelling things (I know it sounds weird) such as perfume samples in magazines or perfume you have at home. I usually smell samples from Cozmogirl magazine when it drives me crazy! I hope my info helped!
