I just got an 8600GTOC and I'm using it to play games on a 19 inch widescreen HP monitor (1440x900). When I have my games in full screen mode for a while at a time, I notice that at the very edges there will be a tiny bit of white that appears to vibrate. It has happened on the top and side how my screen, very small parts each. When I alt tab to another screen, then go back to it, the interference disappears.

I don't want to wreck the card by having it overheat or something. Any idea if this is related or what's causing it? Anything to worry about?

To add to the 2 good answers above me; make sure there are no speakers or electric pencil sharpeners or anything else with a magnet close to your monitor. If not, the 2 answers above should get you back on track. If NONE of our answers work, then DEGAUZE on the monitor's settings panel and that will remove any static build-up. good luck :)

It sounds like you may have the refresh rate set too high. Always set the refresh rate to "60" when using an LCD screen. The higher numbers are for CRT only and will drive an LCD crazy if used.
