Maybe the pet is trying to tell you that she misses you during the day and, is so happy you are home.Its time to play and eat and be a family OH! and she is telling you, that you forgot to take the garbage out. Would you rather come home and no one gets excited and the wife doesn't even look up.See how lucky you are.

So your dog is happier to see you then your wife. Or at least thats how it sounds. Next time take out the trash before your wife tells you to. It might make the homecomings a little less painful. Or she won't have anything to say to you.
Look at it this way, 1 out of 2 is happy to see you. And 1 out of 2 ain't all bad.

Why is this even a question?? That's normal, everyday marriage...If this is a problem for you, then man, I'm not so sure you are going to be able to handle married life.
