The truth of the matter is, the war is not about terrorism but about oil. I understand going after Afghanistan because they supposedly hired Al Qaeda to execute 911 but Iraq is another matter. Bush and his cronies are only out to control oil in Iraq. It is obvious that war against terror is the front because it's been six years and Bin Laden is still out there. The White House pulled out troops from Afghanistan and brought them to Iraq. Saddam is gone -- Bin Laden is stil up and about. Why remain in Iraq and not go after Bin Laden? These people whose lives have literally been uprooted in Iraq -- they have no love lost for Americans. Yeah sure Saddam is gone -- but is civil war better?
The time has come for America to realize that strong-arming the opponent no longer works. It cannot blast away at mountains and deserts and expect the rest of the world to shake in fear. What they're doing only reinforces the fervor of terrorists. It drives them into hiding and encourages them to find more devious and surreptitious ways to attack the free world. It's time for actual intelligence to go on the offensive. But with Bush at the helm, intelligence is out of the question.

The war in Iraq has undeniably created more terrorists than were there before. There was a small Islamist militant group active in Iraq before we invaded (but they were trying to oust Saddamn, who was a secular dictator). No claims of Iraqi government involvement in training terrorists for attacks against America have been substantiated, and most have been refuted.

It's just common sense that invading a country for no good purpose will cause resistance among the population who resent the presence of uninvited armed foreigners in their midst. Resistance fighters have been called terrorists by occupiers for as long as there has been armed conflict. And they aren't all fighting us for ideology or revenge--many were booted from their jobs upon our arrival in Iraq and were paid by jihadis to plant bombs and shoot Americans rather than allow their families to starve. War is desperation, pure and simple.

For those who say that women are finally free to walk down the street in Iraq, WTF are you talking about? We have caused the imposition of Islamic law in a country that was formerly secular! Women who once wore what they pleased and held high-level professions are now being forced to wear headscarves and ousted from the workforce.

Unfortunately I think there's an endless supply of potential terrorists, and they're not going to be able to get us if we'd just let them alone to sink in their own mud. There's not an endless supply of young Americans willing to fight endless wars for unclear reasons. See how all the chicken hawks are always pro-war, but if they have another option to make money, they don't enlist.

NO. Perhaps you've watched too much CNN - Clinton News Network. I suggest you watch a reliable new source - Fox News.

The war on terror is against ALL terrorists. They were told on 9-11 that they are either with us, or they are against us. If there are terrorist who are a threat to the US, they will be dealt with. Iraq has been liberated. People are working again, woman are free to walk the streets and vote. The number of terrorist in Iraq have decreased significantly. All of these things have made America a safer place.

We have taken down two governments which harbored and actively recruited terrorists to commit acts of terror against all of western civilization.

We didn't start this war, it started decades ago when muslims started blowing up airplanes and taking Israeli athletes hostage at the Olympics. We are finally defending ourselves and the rest of the civilized world from these people.

I believe the US wars in the Middle East are actually creating terrorists. Especially since the US decides to use aerial bombing to flush out targets when they learn those targets are hiding in residential areas. It's hard to convince Muslims that our intentions are noble and just when we cause so many incidental civilian casualties.
