Have you seen the documentary "The Kids Are Alright?"
It's a wonderfully entertaining introduction to The Who. The film contains interviews, television show appearances, promotional films, and (literally) explosive concert footage.
If you're just looking for tunes, may I suggest "My Generation," "Behind Blue Eyes," "Baba O'Riley," "Won't Get Fooled Again," "Who Are You," and their album "Tommy?"

The Who, did alot of great songs......Squeeze Box, is a great one....Behind Blue Eyes is another...My Favorite album though, is Quadrophenia
