He was trying to get on in S. Carolina only and he said he was only on the Democratic ballot because the Republicans wanted too much money.

He was never "really" running for president. He's a comic, playing the part of a conservative talk-show host. His "real" views are probably 180 degrees the opposite of what he espouses on the air.

I believe he dropped the "running for president" gag because there was some question that it might be a Federal crime to seek office under false pretense. (I might have the details wrong-- but I do know there was a "legality" issue.

It was a joke/statement from the beginning. He stated that he was only "running" in S. Carolina (his home state), and that he was running as a democrat, because he couldn't afford to run as a repubican. If you've ever watched his show, this is the exact tongue-in-cheek humor that makes his show so watchable. He has been known to make fun of all political parties, and announcing his "candidacy" was just a more high profile way of him showing how much he thought of the political participants & process. ("If these clowns can run the country, why can't I?")

Prolly because some crazy "Demacran" or "republicrat" sent him death threats.

Anyone of these lying sonsofbitches would do anything to win.

(I dont think thats what really happened, but I would not put anything past anyone is our govt)
