My tank is a 30 gallon long (30.6L x 12.5W x 18.6W). I just finished my fishless cycle. I'm trying to figure out what I want to stock my tank with, so I came down to gouramis, and whatelse that can go with them... and what other fish can go with the gouramis? Thanks! Oh, and I was going to get a bristlenose pleco for cleaning the tank.

Oh yeah the bristlenose isn't for cleaning, just to help me with the algae control (which I need right now).

OK instead of a bristlenose pleco I'll get 6 Juhli Cory Cats. And I've been hearing stuff like 3-spot gouramis need at least a 55 gallon tank. Is that true?

Three Spot Gourami are nice(they are also called Blue G.,Gold G.,),there are several color phases all derived from the Three Spot.
My favorite (and I think most attractive) is the Pearl Gourami(Tricogaster Leerii). These are fairly gentle as members of the Anabantid Family go and display beautifully in a planted tank.
Another choice might be any of the Dwarf Gourami, but the breeders in the Far East rarely ship female of this specie so these would be for display only.
The Bristle-nose would be an interesting addition, but you should understand that they will not keep the tank clean for you. They are not particularly good as algae eaters. The unfortunate truth is,that as fish-keepers we are the animal that must keep the tank clean.
As to tank-mates for your Gourami, look at a school of shoaling fish, like Danios, small Tetras,or some of the Rasboras(Harlequins are nice). If you wish to try some catfish for clean-up duty, look at a group of Cory cats,(6 or more),they will require extra food, they are scavengers but need a little vegetation in their diets.

how about a community tank of small gouramis? chocolate, sparkling, honey dwarf, licorice. etc. the advantage of small gouramis are you can keep more of them and most are really very peaceful. but. my favorites are the pearl gourami too..

A good rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water. Get some 'starter' meaning cheaper fish to get your tanks water to where it needs to be, then decide on which fish you really want. Check out the link below. It will help you decide on who can get along with whom.
