Almost all of the pig is used for human food. The ribs are smoked, the feet are pickled, etc. Selling meat as human food is more profitable than as animal food. The chicken used in pet food is not anything you would want to eat. They send retired laying hens to the soup factories where the breasts and leg sections are taken then the rest of the bird goes to the dog food factory. When the dog food companies say they use human grade meat it means the meat will pass USDA specs for food safety. It does not mean it has to be appetizing to people. Pork fat is a common dog food ingredient.

the main reason is because pork can not be kept for any Lengh of time after cooking , before IT would go of , and you can not re cook pork. like humans the animals must be treated the same..

You do ...pig ears are available at all pet shops as a treat for your dog .But both my dogs get upset stomachs if they have anything with pork in it, so it might not be very good for them in general!

No idea.
My pets eat human food that includes vegetables and food from the supermarket. They have this with a handful of kibble. They love liver and tripe the best.

It is expensive so is not often used.
I feed Eagle Pack and they do use pork, this is their reasoning "Pork is hypoallergenic, is one the 3-most digestible animal meal proteins and today is parasite free.It is expensive so it is not often used in other brands"
