i wonder that myself!..is it a way for the soda's company to make more money?..many of the water bottles sold are from soda company's. And, it has been proofed that the water you buy in bottles is just tap water..nothing special, expect it was filtered.
So..it makes no sense at all why it is more expensive. Mainly just to get people to buy the sodas.

It's called "creating a disease and selling a cure." The bottled water companies use stealth ad campaigns and conspiracy theorists to get people to believe that "tap water is bad for you." The funny thing is, bottled water is municipal water -- aka tap water. I don't buy the BS that "water is less abundant than soda, which is man-made." What is the #1 ingredient of soda?

(Bottled) Water is more expensive than soda because water is scarce (rare) for the following reasons:
1. Households recieve water
2. Employees at Companies recieve water
3. Sewage System needs water
4. Pets (if you have any) need water
5. Manufacturers of Soda drinks need water to produce soda drinks
There are more reasons but the point is "water gets used up and therefore it is scarce in its pure form"
There's less of it
So its more expensive
Just like Gold to Silver
Just like Platinum to Gold

David J is absolutely correct. The bottlers use the same water for soda, they just charge more. Great gimmick, healthier drink. Bah, humbug.

Marketing strategy, and supply & demand.
People believe that bottled water is healthier and less polluted than tap water, so they buy it bottled. This gives the corporations plenty of head-room to keep the prices inflated.

soda is cheap cause more people by it than water because soda is unhealthy. thus tripling the money progress

ONLY 2% of earths water is fresh so its harder to find and to drink now (well not hard to find but little of it) and soda is man made and we have more materials for that
